Hey strangers! Sorry I have been MIA lately, I had a little break from the blog as I’ve been so busy recently with nail appointments and the bank holidays, it’s been fab. But I’m trying to get back into the swing of things and have a review for you on a very popular and purse-friendly set of nail polishes….
This set from Primark is pretty much the ultimate bargain. 4 neon polishes for £2 which are surprisingly great quality. There are 3 cremes; pink, orange and green, and one shimmer which is the yellow shade.
Being honest, I wasn’t expecting much from these. Primark quality is not always the best and for the equivalent of 50p each I thought the consistency would be very watery. However I was pleasantly surprised with the application and consistency. The formulation is a medium to thick but not at all gloopy, and two coats is all that is required for a good level of opacity. The brush isn’t the best and as the lid is quite small they can be a bit fiddly to apply, but other than that I have no complaints whatsoever.
Onto the swatches...
I absolutely love the pink in this collection, my camera hasn't picked up just how bright it is. The orange I would say is the least neon of the four, it certainly isn’t as bright as China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy for example. I love the green as I don’t have anything else like it in my collection, but not sure how appropriate it is for work! And the yellow is actually really pretty, it’s the least opaque of the 4 and has a very fine golden shimmer - it reminds me of MAC’s Tendertone in Tread Gently.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this set to people who love super bright neons and are on a budget. After trying these I would definitely not hesitate to purchase other Primark polishes.
What do you think to these shades? Have you tried any polishes from Primark before?
